Is switching to solar power for government buildings in Pakistan is the real solution to the broken economy of the country?

Hunain Khan

Came across this news, where our much-respected officials are planning to switch to solar systems for government buildings. I am not here to defame anyone but I just have one question, is this how Pakistan's weak economy will recover? Is this how we will be able to get employment for people who doesnt have jobs? Our leaders should be extremely concerned about the downfall, but they are all focused on things that won't even matter if Pakistan stops existing altogether.

Solar panels for the government building? Really? what is wrong with the leaders of our country, sometimes it feels like they want to sabotage Pakistan deliberately which is heart-breaking. Do even they have an idea of the cost of installation? And it does cause pollution during the process of manufacturing, transporting, and installing. I don't understand why people tag this source of energy as eco-friendly. I don't think so it reduces carbon footprint.

Funny how the government thinks that adding solar panels to the government building will resolve all the issues Pakistan is facing. I don't want to name and shame anyone but in the state, the country is, usage of renewable energy should not even be considered. I agree it will save water and make the country eco-friendly but this isn't what the country needs right now. Hate to say the bitter truth, but there are people dying every day out of hunger, and we are busy adorning national buildings with perks such as solar panels.

Not supporting any politician but I personally think it is a great decision. If you think about this rationally this could benefit the environment of Pakistan and provide us with a healthy lifestyle. One of the best reasons why it is such a great idea is that it will produce low electricity bills and save water. Maybe the usage of solar energy will promote the use of it in the homes of citizens too. However, its installation process and cost are a concern.
